I first tried Rolfing eight years ago, hoping that it would help with the back pain I'd had since high school. It turned out that improving my posture through Rolfing was the key.
Not only did the 10-session series resolve the chronic back pain, it also dramatically improved my athletic ability. When I began practicing yoga, the movements felt easy and strong because my joints were better positioned and my movement was more coordinated.
Now I've been a Rolfer for over 5 years, and I love doing this work. Sometimes it is like following clues to unlock a puzzle, so we work together to solve the mystery.

About My Business:
PORTLAND ROLFER
Hello! I've had a private practice in RolfingĀ® Structural Integration in the Hawthorne district for almost 5 years. It is inspiring to help people realize their full potential for wellness and comfort. Some people even experience changes beyond the physical, rippling out into emotional, spiritual, and interpersonal realms.
In a Rolfing session, I work directly with the fascial matrix (the connective tissue wrapping throughout the body) to re-sculpt the tissue to restore natural motion and posture. When you are lined up with gravity, every movement becomes more enjoyable. Then I teach you how to make use of this new potential in your daily life.
In addition to offering sessions, I offer two 90-minute classes for the general public to help people learn concepts for correct movement in daily life. These are interactive, experiential classes where you learn to feel what is right for your body. The topics are "Smart Sitting" and "The New Rules of Posture." I generally offer each of them monthly, on a weeknight or weekend. You can see the upcoming schedule on my website. If those class times don't work for you, please contact me and I will attempt to accommodate your schedule for future classes.
